History

In March 1985, Al Barth and his family moved to West Pasco, having responded to a call issued by the Presbytery of Central Florida, PCA to plant a church. Within several months, Al and his wife had made many contacts in the community, mostly non-believers, and had gathered a small core of people interested in being involved in a new church. They decide to begin meeting the first Sunday in June, and to their surprise, 65 people showed up for worship. Within six months, 22 of those people committed their lives to Christ.

After meeting at several temporary locations, the church was able to purchase property at its present location on Ridge Road, and ground was broken in June of 1992. The new building was dedicated on the first Sunday in December with 350 people attending.

Pastor Barth continued at River Ridge until September 1995, when he left to plant a church on Long Island. The new pastor, Bing Davis arrived in January 1996. He served as pastor for five years until April 2001 when he moved to a church in Naples, Florida.

In December 2002, River Ridge called William Gunter as their pastor. A new sanctuary was completed in January 2003, with the dedication service held on Sunday, January 19. As we look forward to the future, we hope you will join us and consider making River Ridge your church home.
